10 February 2020 (London) – Reactive Technologies, a UK and Finland based energy tech company accelerating the transition to a low carbon future, has appointed Catherine Gan as Chief Financial Officer. In her role, Ms. Gan will support the Executive team in driving growth as the business enters new markets whilst managing relationships with existing and potential investors.
A qualified accountant by background, Ms. Gan brings a wealth of knowledge to the business. With over 20 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, she has considerable expertise in financial and risk management, strategy development and M&A activity. Ms. Gan also has a strong track record of leading successful international, collaborative projects while maintaining a focus on corporate ethics and sustainability. Her holistic approach to supporting growth in a disciplined and strategic manner will add real value to Reactive Technologies as the business accelerates on its global trajectory.
Ms. Gan joins Reactive Technologies from the Low Carbon Contracts Company where, as Chief Financial Officer, she was responsible for a variety of functions including finance, IT, settlement, procurement, audit & risk and data analytics. Prior to this, she spent nearly a decade at EDF Energy in a number of senior roles, including Head of Finance, where she led the company’s Nuclear New Build Program (Hinkley Point C).

Born in Shanghai, Ms. Gan moved to the UK to study for her MBA at Huron University and was subsequently the first overseas graduate hired by Prudential Assurance. In 2017, she was one of the Financial Times’ Top 100 Women to Watch and has been recognised by the Green Park Board Talent Index. Ms. Gan supports the Energy Institute’s POWERful Women initiative, championing and mentoring those from underprivileged backgrounds.
